Wish I May was established in Greene County by Lisa Slavens in 2011. In 2014, Wish I May opened in Christian County and changed to Project Birthday Bag in 2018.

Project Birthday Bag works with community agencies to determine children who will not be receiving anything for their birthday. Once these families are identified, a form is given to the parent/guardian to fill out about their child. The form is then given to Project Birthday Bag where volunteers pack a birthday bag according to that child’s specific interest, hobbies, favorite color, etc. The bag is then given to the parents who can go home, bake the birthday cake and wrap the birthday presents from the bag. Our goal at Project Birthday Bag is to make every parent/guardian their child’s superhero!
